Digging for Gold:

Finding the Predictive Pot of Gold

featuring Kelly Surtees

SCAN's May 8th lecture offers a jackpot of information to help you sharpen your predictive skills by:

  • Progressing the chart effectively
  • Layering transits and progressions
  • The use of house rulerships, fixed stars and Ptolemy’s table of dignities in predictive work

Progressions provide a rich layer of highly personal information that is often not fully integrated in predictive work. Using the template of the natal chart we will explore what’s important; the traditional chart ruler, changes to essential planetary strength, shifts from one moon phase to the next and sign changes of the angles.

Everyone responds differently to major transits depending on their inner state, as described by their progressed moon and its phases at that moment. We’ll explore how to apply the planetary terms from Ptolemy’s dignities table as we watch the progressed Sun mark time. The path of key progressed chart points and planets activates the symbolism of the fixed stars bringing their motifs down to earth and into life. These concepts will be discussed.

An individual’s promise is held in their birth and chart and we discover how to describe and time this promise through progressing it. Progressions give us the primary plot and transits help confirm the timing and nature of each significant experience. I’ll present my “Predictive Tree” model to illustrate this visually.
